The trickiest part of any development project is knowing exactly what to develop. How will your users be digesting the information you’re distributing? What is the most important action you want your users to take, and how should the product guide users through that experience?
At Mindgrub, our Information Architecture (IA) process is the first step to creating a solid list of required features, functionality and content for the project. Our team will work with you to ensure that the project’s goals are clearly defined and that we have included mechanisms for measuring success. The structure of the information, the taxonomies and categories and relationships--these all set the stage for the overall user experience (UX) of the end product.
Often, IA and UX planning stages can include researching the target users, reviewing the competitive landscape, and/or preliminary baseline testing to help better understand the problem we are working to solve. Once we’ve documented as much information as we can, the project moves into the Interaction Design process.
Interaction Design aims to synthesize all the information we’ve collected into a meaningful set of contextual stories, user profiles and workflow diagrams. We’ll produce a set of wireframes, which are design-neutral representations of the flow of the application and the interactions that collectively make up the whole application.
Approved wireframe documentation is a prerequisite for design of any web or mobile application, and Mindgrub’s team works collaboratively with clients to ensure that the structure and experience of a project is well thought-out and thoroughly documented so projects are efficient and effective.
