The Center for Advanced Study of Language (CASL) at the University of Maryland reached out to Mindgrub for a new website design. Their old website was difficult to navigate, making it nearly impossible to showcase the critical research that has been done through their organization. CASL wanted their new website to be easily navigable, as well as visually appealing.
Mindgrub developed a new website for CASL that exhibits an attractive, straightforward aesthetic. The organization of the site was simplified to easily allow users to access pertinent information. The new responsive website was built in WordPress, and promotes a simplified sitemap with uncomplicated, user-friendly information architecture. As a government-funded organization, Mindgrub also made sure that the website redesign was 508 compliant. Core content areas for the site include a news area, about page with staff information, services area, and a projects and publications area. Within the publications area itself, there is a comprehensive search area where users can search for relevant publications with a variety of advanced filters.
Furthermore, the new website not only helps users navigate more easily, but has also aided CASL in defining their core audience more effectively. This has allowed them to target potential clients and funding more easily. Overall, the website will create a refreshed look for the organization, promoting it as a strong resource for information about the many services offered by the Center.
