Independent Living with the Help of New Technology
Improvements in medical research and healthcare services have increased the average life expectancy in the United States, and across the globe. This upward trend is expected to continue, and senior care services will be in even greater demand. Technological advancements, such as unique 3D printed medicines, high-quality and easily-accessible telemedicine consultations, and robots in the home can help make aging in place easier, as part of an integrated senior care plan.
In this session, we will explore the technologies that are currently available (and others that are still being developed) that can boost caregiver efficiency and help patients thrive independently.
This session is approved for Pharmacist CPE and Pharmacy Technician CE.
Attendees will learn how to:
- Recognize the significant impact that technology can have on the quality of life of seniors.
- Identify and describe technologies being used to provide quality healthcare and pharmaceutical services to patients, including those that facilitate independent senior living.
- Determine which techniques, products, or services will help address specific challenges that caregivers and pharmacists will face in the future.
- Develop a model for applying technological solutions to current and future healthcare challenges.
