BALTIMORE, DECEMBER 7, 2020 | Continuing their transformation into a fully virtual workplace, digital agency Mindgrub has launched a custom intranet and a new, branded ecommerce experience.
Most of Mindgrub’s workforce has worked remotely since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic earlier this year, but the company’s leadership has no plans to dismantle the virtual infrastructure that has facilitated those operations once the public health crisis concludes. In fact, Mindgrub has found more even success as a distributed, digital-first company, and has taken numerous steps towards building a strong, resilient, sustainable virtual culture.
Debuting today, Mindnet is Mindgrub’s new centralized hub for resources and updates from across the organization. Now, brand new employees and seasoned veterans alike have easy access to information that was once distributed across multiple different platforms.
“We have several active committees tackling everything from virtual bonding events to diversity and inclusion initiatives, but their work wasn’t accessible to everyone on demand,” remarked Mindgrub’s Director of Marketing Laura Scruggs. “With the launch of Mindnet, people can find out more about how to join these working groups and the ways in which they’re making an impact on the company and our community. In a time when employees might be feeling disconnected from one another, this is a great way to build transparency, engagement, and communication efficiency.”
Later this month, the agency is also launching the Mindgrub Marketplace, an ecommerce storefront filled with a custom line of branded apparel and accessories. While items will be available for purchase by employees and the general public, Mindgrub’s managers also plan to use the system as a way to recognize team members on their birthdays, work anniversaries, or simply for a job well done.
“I’m excited to launch Mindgrub’s new Marketplace to organize our growing set of apparel, make it more accessible for our rapidly-growing team, and share some of what makes Mindgrub special with the general public,” said Mindgrub Founder and CEO Todd Marks. “Our team has really enjoyed being able to add all sorts of items to the storefront that the hip, modern-day knowledge worker might want - everything from bags to electronics to skateboards and more. Mindgrub not only leads the market in mobile, web and marketing, we are now officially a lifestyle brand.
While Mindgrub remains proudly headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, with offices in New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C., the agency is preparing for a future in which a significant percentage of the workforce remains remote. “Mindnet, the Marketplace, and virtual fundraising events like our first annual Games for Good are all part of our long-term strategy to build a strong Mindgrub community,” continued Marks. “While we’re proud to have put our experience with designing and building exceptional digital experiences to good use this year, I know that this is just the beginning for our new virtual culture. I can’t wait to see it grow in 2021 and beyond.”
