Senior Automation Engineer

Work with development and design teams throughout the entire project life cycle to ensure essential functionality.


Mindgrub is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Senior Automation Engineer for immediate hire to join our growing Quality Assurance department. This position requires QA Automation, DevOps and advanced programming knowledge. QA Engineers should be experienced with the SDLC and know how to apply best testing practices to fit each project. Attention to detail and communication are a core skill set for this position. QA Engineers will work shoulder to shoulder with application developers, designers and project managers on every step of the development process.


  • Developing frameworks from scratch that meet the diverse needs of varying clients
  • Maintain, and add to a back-end testing framework with a focus on APIs and Big Data
  • Gathering testing requirements and expectations from the project management team
  • Balancing multiple projects while communicating clear time frames to the applicable teams
  • Taking responsibility for ensuring timely and accurate testing
  • Reporting defects and improvements accurately
  • Taking charge to vocalize critical issues
  • Conduct software and compatibility testing in accordance with the documentation
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to developers on software usability and functionality
  • Triage client reported issues
  • Identify and resolve problems that arise during testing
  • Maintain a direct line of communication with client(s)


  • Experience using Selenium Webdriver or other automation tools
  • Java or C# programming experience preferred
  • Ability to write SQL queries and sprocs
  • Nunit, Junit, VisualStudio.UnitTesting, or other unit testing libraries
  • Ability to set up CI jobs and pipelines on services like Bamboo and Jenkins
  • Experience with bug management software such as Bugzilla, JIRA, Test Rail
  • API testing experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • An eye for attention to detail
  • A clear understanding of SDLC in both waterfall and agile framework
  • Able to work closely with peers and communicate issues with fellow team members


  • Bachelors degree required, computer science degree or equivalent experience required
  • 6+ years' experience with creating automation frameworks and tests from scratch
