UX Architect Lead

Mindgrub is looking for a motivated, thoughtful User Experience Lead for immediate hire to join our growing company. The UX Lead is responsible for shaping the strategic direction for UX outcomes on client engagements through leadership, mentorship, and strategic production.

POSITION OVERVIEW

To shape the strategic direction and be accountable for UX outcomes on client engagements through leadership, mentorship, and production.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create high-quality User Experience deliverables for a wide range of audiences (wireframes, clickable prototypes, usability testing scripts, user flows, design documentation, etc.) based on knowledge of current paradigms (iOS, Android, Web)
  • Guide multi-faceted client projects to ensure a strategic approach to time and budget
  • Bring a research-driven approach using real data to justify decisions and project direction
  • Review team and project team deliverables
  • Identify research opportunities and appropriate discovery processes to enhance knowledge of clients and projects
  • Ensure UX vision is carried through a project’s lifecycle, from concept to product launch to client hand off
  • Communicate clearly and effectively to clients from kickoff to project completion, asking questions, identifying requirements, answering questions, explaining decisions made, and leading UX meetings
  • Collaborate with team members to identify, evaluate, and implement the improved processes
  • Assist with new business and inside sales opportunities by recommending the best approach and providing accurate estimates
  • Analyze, document, and present production tools, methods, and best practices to team members
  • Participate in and often lead sketching/collaboration sessions
  • Preferred experience with 508/WCAG compliance standards, web/mobile accessibility audits, and recommending fixes

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Proven record in executing client engagements and deliverables for complex web and mobile UX challenges, including integrated systems and API auditing
  • Clear, concise, accurate written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working on a team and communicating across multiple departments
  • Present ideas and information effectively and persuasively
  • Advanced skills of ux design programs, such as Sketch and InVision
  • Familiar with web and mobile paradigms and commonly used frameworks like Drupal, Wordpress, iOS, Android
  • Proficient with Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Familiar with project management software i.e., Basecamp
  • Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Strong time management skills
  • Attention to detail across all deliverables
  • Able to work independently
  • Knowledge of production process and techniques

EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE

  • Our ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience creating wireframes, conducting interviews, engaging with clients, and hosting discovery activities (card sorting, focus groups, sketching sessions, etc)
  • Bachelor’s degree in UX/HCI preferred, not required with acquired experience
  • 2 to 3 years of UX work experience in mobile applications and/or web
  • Preferred experience with compliance standards, web/mobile accessibility audits, and recommended fixes

COMMENTS

  • The position will require you to work on-site in our Baltimore office, and manage multiple tasks while delivering projects on-time and on-budget
  • This is a full-time position. Contractors should not apply
